Squirrelman’s Nutzy World Has Been Nominated for a 2008 Blogger’s Choice Award!

Squirrelman’s Nutzy World has been nominated for a 2008 Bloggers Choice award in the category of “Best Blog about Stuff”.
What an appropriate category to be included in I think.
You’ll see the following banner in the upper left hand column on this blog.  And if you think that Squirrelman’s Nutzy World is worthy of this award, [...]

Breaking in to the top 1,000,000

It took only about three weeks of monitoring, but now three of our illustrious sites are in the Alexa Top 1,000,000.  When we first put the Alexa toolbar on our browser we were ranked in the neighborhood of 3M.  Look at us now.
In case you don’t know my know which websites I’m talking about, here [...]

I’ve Been Warned

I’ve been warned that if I don’t post a blog entry for four consecutive days I could lose my blogging priviledges for a week or more.  I’m not sure if they’re bluffing.  Heck, I’m just honored that someone actually would care that I haven’t posted anything lately.  They’re either very sick; very bored; demented; or [...]

I’d Do Anything For a Buck

The cool nights of August are a harbinger of Fall.  And before you know it, it’s Winter.  And what do all smart Squirrels do?  They start to save for the long cold winter months when it will be too cold to go out and forage,
This Squirrel, for one, doesn’t want to be left out in [...]

It’s the Little Things in Life…

…that truly make me happy.  Tracy has been spending a lot of time, and effort, on the HGTV boards, watching, and commenting on, shows such as Design Star and now Summer Showdown.  But, all I could hear was her dissatisfaction of their boards as they wily nily banned members basically for voicing their opinions.  She [...]

Half the Year is Gone

Half the year to go.
Wherever did this year go to?  I’m shocked that tomorrow is the first day of July.  I’m even more shocked that my birthday is coming up in a few days.  I’m in such denial.
So much has transpired in the first six months of this year.  If I started to list them [...]

Publicity to the MAX!

Just when I was convinced that today was Groundhog Day, an inspiration hit me, and I HAD to get the word out.  Considering that I haven’t received any offers yet to fund my feed (and my bank account), I realized that I had to get the word out (apparently venture capitalists need to be led [...]

Blogs vs. Discussion Boards/Forums

Time to ruffle a few feathers, Squirrelettes. I’ve been examining this whole blog phenomena, and in particular comparing it to Discussion Boards/Forums. I’ve come to a few conclusions, but welcome your opinions as well.
Those who create blogs are only interested in hearing their own voice. A discussion Forum invites others to participate [...]

Spring Cleaning

Yesterday, feeling guilty watching Tracy, Tom, and Matthew cleaning the backyard (raking, picking up rocks, planting, mulching) when I got home from picking up Chris after his sleep over at his friends house, I pitched in.
I need more exercise. I’m aching all over.
To make matters worse, I tried installing the new memory chips that [...]
