It’s wonderful to visit new places, experience new things… today we’re in the Emerald City (discretion prevents me from saying more than that). It’s truly a jewel of a city from what we’ve seen so far. Of course it was raining when we arrived. Figures. But, now that it’s cleared up the view is beyond [...]

Reporting from the land of no power. And when in Rome one must do as the Romans do. So, you might ask how in the world am I posting this. It’s ingenious actually (another trait learned from the locals). We tethered up Matthew’s bicycle, dangled an ice cream cone in front of him, and as [...]

And it’s good to be back… had a nice long and relaxing soul-searching weekend, and we’ve come to a few conclusions. I’m not going to spell them out right now. First because it’s late, and secondly I’ll share them when I’m ready to. So there!
As promised in my last post we did a lot more [...]

On tomorrow’s return trip home, we’re tallying McDonalds, Burger Kings, Wendy’s, Burps, and Farts! Which do you think we’ll see the most of? We could, if we weren’t so darned ethical, totally skew the results by stopping at one of the three aforementioned establishments to increase the odds of recording the latter two.
Seems like a [...]

With apologies to Simon and Garfunkel, on the second half of our most excellent adventure we decided to pass the time by summarizing every license plate we saw by State and Province from Dumfries (I kid you not, that’s the name of the town… and the McDonald’s serves DumBurgers too! (ok, that’s a complete fabrication)), [...]

No one ever consulted with me on this subject. For if they did I might skew those findings so far to the left that the entire hypothesis would have to be summarily dismissed.
I don’t know what it is, but I always overpack. I have enough clothes on this trip to last easily a week (perhaps [...]

on our “old” Connecticut Hotel. What a great day for a Bar Mitzvah! Let’s celebrate two. Know anyone else about to turn 13?
A sumptuous breakfast was enjoyed by all… showers are almost complete… and now I just have to get in my suit (**blush**), and we’ll all be ready to go.
Good luck Scott!!

though half way through the trip that seemed kind of doubtful… I’ve never been on a ferry that was rocking as much as this one. I can’t believe that the Sound had so many waves.
We’re comfortably in our room… the boys are playing Nintendo 64 on the TV in the room. Tracy is watching a [...]
